A simple money system for freelancers

Freelance income arrives in waves. A small system smooths the waves so rent, taxes and savings are always covered.

1. Track every invoice

The Invoice Register & Aging Report shows what is sent, paid and overdue. Following up on time is the cheapest way to improve cash flow.

2. Pay yourself a salary

Move a fixed amount from your business account to your personal account each month. In good months the surplus stays in the business as a buffer.

3. Set aside tax as you earn

Put a percentage of every payment aside straight away. The Freelancer Income Tracker estimates it for you per payment.

Combine these with the Freelance Rate Calculator to check that your prices actually cover your time, tools and time off.
